One in a series of titles examining closed railway lines and currently open lines that have seen enormous change around England. The line from Stratford-upon-Avon to Gloucester was a late addition to the GWR network and was important for freight flows to docks as well as holidaymakers to southwest beaches.

Contains a short introduction to and history of the Cotswold route from Stratford-upon-Avon to Gloucester, followed by a series of black & white photographs taken along the line from the period when the line was in its heyday.
