This album of black & white photographs tells the story of the Malton & Driffield Junction Railway, which connected its two namesake towns for just over 100 years, primarily for chalk and coal traffic although a token passenger service also operated until 1950. More recently, a short section of the line has been reopened as a heritage railway known as the Yorkshire Wolds Railway.

The book starts with a short history of the line, followed by photos of the stations and key locations along the route. The photographs are arranged one per page, with a brief description of the location and a basic caption. Some photographs of trains on the main lines at either end of the M&DJR and the present day heritage operation are also included. 48 pages.
