Oerlikon Twilight: The LNWR/LMS Watford and North London DC Lines in the early BR era (Transport Treasury)

Due to the fine array of steam power seen on the West Coast Main Line, railway photographers of the 1950s largely ignored the relatively mundane EMUs working on the Watford DC lines, so photographs of them are not particularly common. These trains were formed of the LNWR Oerlikon and LMS Compartment stock. However the Transport Treasury Archive have amassed enough photos of these venerable units for Robert Freeman to make up into a book - Oerlikon Twilight: The LNWR/LMS Watford and North London DC Lines in the early BR era. Also portrayed here are the early years of the Eastleigh-built units that replaced them (later Class 501). There are even a few photos of the Lancaster- Morecambe-Heysham line: the connection is explained in the text!

5 colour and 84 black & white photographs. Hardback. 80 pages.
