To mark the occasion of the 175th anniversary of Belgium’s line 59 between Antwerpen and Gent, Editions PFT and author, Marc Clarysse, have joined forces to produce this complete historical record of the line.

The first section of the route, between Sint-Niklaas and Antwerpen, opened to traffic on 3 November 1844. From modest local origins, the line has grown in stature over the years and is today one of the most important arteries in the Belgian rail network.

Separate chapters deal with the history of the line, its construction and the various stages of its modernisation. Each station and stopping point is examined in detail and a chapter examines the rolling stock of yesterday and today.

La Ligne Antwerpen-Gent contains over 300 photographs, maps, plans, diagrams, timetables, postcards and other period reproductions. 292 pages. French text. Hardback.
