Chris Warren has compiled this fascinating collection of photographs of buses in Brighton and Hove taken between 1950 and 1971 when red and cream was the standard livery of the two main local operators, Brighton Hove & District Omnibus Co Ltd and the Brighton Corporation Transport Department, hance the title of the book.

The book starts with a short history of Brighton and its transport operators, covering the political developments that shaped the town’s bus services during and just before the period covered. Each photo has a detailed caption, with most of the buses illustrated being half-cab open rear platform double deckers typical of the period. Vehicle types depicted include Guy Arabs, Bristol Lodekkas, K5Gs and KSW6Bs, and Leyland Titan PD2s. Some open toppers, single deckers and Daimler Fleetlines are also featured.

Superbly illustrated throughout with over 150 black & white photographs. Hardback. 136 pages.
