In From Crosville to Oblivion: The South Cheshire Depots, photographer Cliff Beeton traces the history of the operations of bus operator Crosville on its routes served from its south Cheshire depots at Congleton, Crewe, Etruria, Macclesfield and Northwich.

The photos date from between the 1980s and the early 2020s and depict buses operated by Crosville and its successors, covering National Bus Company days and the subsequent splitting of the company in preparation for privatisation and deregulation. This saw the Congleton and Macclesfield area services rebranded as C-Line, albeit retaining the Crosville dark green and cream livery of that era, while Crewe and Etruria depots and their services were acquired by Midland Red North and Runcorn and Warrington depots by North Western using their respective colour schemes.

In the early 1990s, British Bus acquired North Western along with Stevensons of Uttoxeter whose buses can be seen in their all over yellow livery. Eventually the former operations of Crosville were reunited under the Arriva brand before Arriva withdrew from the area in 2023, and the last few pages are given over to Arriva buses in various versions of their turquoise livery.

Around 200 colour photos. 96 pages.
