The number of municipal operators in Lancashire was significantly reduced in 1969 with the creation of the Passenger Transport Executives in both Manchester and Liverpool, then further reduced when boundaries were changed in 1974.
This book examines the operators still in existence after 1974, with a brief summary of the company's operations post-1974 provided, along with a number of photographs of their vehicles at work in the area. An introduction to municipal operators in Lancashire is also provided and each photograph is accompanied by a caption. 96 pages.
