By Peter Aves and Alan Charman. A comprehensive and well-illustrated history of London Transport’s fleet of GS single-deck Guy buses which were introduced in the early 1950s to replace the ageing fleet of Leyland Cubs. The vehicles were commonly used on many of London Country’s quietest routes. This book covers looks at their time in service and includes detailed accounts of their use and scheduling. Also looks at the design of the vehicles as well as at the reasons for their withdrawal in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The book is written with the benefit of Peter Aves’ extensive notes and official records; it is well illustrated with photographs of the vehicles and a number of contemporary printed timetables. Hardback. 200 pages.
