The Leyland Atlantean was in production from 1958 until 1986, with over 13,500 vehicles being built during this period. Mike Rhodes has put together this collection of previously unpublished photos of these once ubiquitous buses in service with a variety of operators across the UK.
The photographs are arranged by body builder in alphabetical order, starting with Alexander whose vehicles were especially common in their native Scotland but also often seen elsewhere, and finishing with Park Royal. Other builders featured include major players such as Metro Cammell and Northern Counties, along with smaller companies such as Eastern Coach Works, Massey Brothers and Van Hool (the latter having only produced one vehicle each).
Contains around 200 photographs, mostly presented in two-per-page format. Each image is accompanied by a caption and a short introduction to Leyland Atlantean buses is also included. 96 pages.
