The latest addition to Robert Schwandl’s series of illustrated reviews of the urban rail networks of major cities, this one covering the Polish capital city of Warszawa (Warsaw).
It includes a historical overview of each system in turn and then looks at present day operations using high quality colour images of the operating fleet and important architectural features of each network. Some archive photographs have also been included to illustrate change over time.
An introduction to public transport in Warsaw is provided, covering operators, ticketing and routes. This is followed by a look at the city’s metro system, including its history, present day services and rolling stock. There are then chapters covering each of the two metro lines and the projected line M3.
Next, the book turns to the city’s suburban rail and tram networks. Superbly-illustrated with colour photographs and maps throughout. 128 pages. Approximately 300 photos. Text is in German and English.
