King’s of Norwich was one of a number of outside scrap contractors that assisted British Rail with the scrapping of redundant locomotives when BR’s own in-house scrapping facilities were struggling to cope with the volume of work. This is a collection of photographs of mostly steam and some diesel locomotives awaiting scrapping at King’s. The photographs are mostly arranged one per page with detailed captions accompanying each.
There is also a short chapter at the end featuring coaches and EMU vehicles for scrap at King’s other site in Wymondham, which mainly dealt with multiple unit vehicles and hauled coaching stock. Contains around 80 black & white photographs. Hardback. 80 pages.
