This is the third in a series of books on the former East German Deutsche Reichsbahn’s V 100 diesel loco fleet, taking a detailed look at members of the class still in operation outside Germany and with private operators and Deutsche Bahn subsidiaries such as DB Bahnbau Gruppe, freight operator DB Cargo, infrastructure division DB InfraGO, and regional passenger train operator DB Regio. 

There is a full fleet list of all V 100 locos with their dates of entry to service and withdrawal along with their current locations where applicable, and for each railway undertaking there is a short description of that company’s operations. A separate chapter gives details of accidents involving members of the class. At the end there are details of preserved locomotives.
