This is the first of a series of albums of black & white photographs taken by the late Wolf Schneider between the 1950s and the 1970s across southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland. 

This first volume focuses on Schwäbisch Hall (specifically his home town of Hessental) and Crailsheim, also featuring excursions into the Swabian Alb and the Black Forest. Many of the photos are from the Heilbronn–Hessental–Crailsheim route with which he was familiar.

The photographs are mostly arranged two or three per page and have detailed captions. There is a good variety of steam, diesel and electric hauled passenger and freight trains, diesel railbuses, works trains, and locos on shed, including some snow scenes. Other points of interest such as signal boxes are also featured. German text. Hardback. 168 pages.
