The name D L Bradley will certainly be known to most enthusiasts of the Southern Railway, indeed his locomotive histories still stand proud more than five decades since they were first published.

It was however an incomplete series, Part 3 of Locomotives of the Southern Railway featuring the history of the Southern Electric, Bulleid diesel shunter, Leader and main-line diesel electric locomotives was never released.

That is until now, when the manuscript was found by chance in consequence of a house clearance.

This volume contains locomotive histories for Southern Railway main line electric locomotives, the Leader class, diesel-mechanical locomotives and main line diesl electric locomotive classes, some of which never entered service. For each type, a history is provided along with a diagram and a series of black & white photographs. Hardback. 96 pages.
