An album of colour and black & white photographs illustrating the northern section of the Midland Main Line route from Leicester to Sheffield, both via Derby and via Nottingham and the Erewash Valley, between the mid-1970s and early-1990s.

A wide range of diesel locomotive types are included, with images featuring the iconic Peak classes, the ubiquitous Class 47s and a variety of other types of diesel traction such as Classes 20, 25, 31, 58, HSTs and DMUs. Apart from InterCity services to and from London, other notable trains depicted include cross-country workings, local services such as Derby to Matlock, and the long-gone Nottingham to Glasgow train passing Dore after its rerouting away from the Settle & Carlisle route.

Photographs are presented in full-page format with an informative caption accompanying each image. 48 pages.
