This book takes us on a tour of the railways of South Wales between the late 1950s and mid-1960s, starting at Abergavenny close to the Anglo-Welsh border in 1957 and finishing in the far west at Fishguard Harbour with the RCTS Farewell to Steam in West Wales railtour in 1965.

Many long-closed branch lines and industrial railways are featured, including the famous Swansea & Mumbles Railway which laid claim to being the world’s first passenger carrying line and featured a fleet of distinctive double deck trams.

For each line or location featured there is half a page of text outlining the history of the railway at the location in question. This is followed by a selection of photographs arranged two per page. Most of the photographs are accompanied by detailed captions. 227 colour and black & white photographs. Hardback. 122 pages.
