Scottish Steamers in the 1930s (Mainline & Maritime)

This book is an album of archive black & white photographs of Scottish steamers during the 1930s. The photographs come from the collection of J. B. MacGeorge and feature steam vessels at work around the west of Scotland.

Although MacGeorge travelled to the Hebrides, the majority of the photographs he took were of Clyde steamers; this is reflected in the content of the book. Photographs feature a wide range of vessels, including Waverley, which is still operational today.

Photographs are presented in two-per-page format throughout the book, with extensive captions accompanying each image, providing historical information about the vessels and locations illustrated.

Scottish Steamers in the 1930s provides a fascinating look at the heyday of the Scottish steamers. 144 pages.
