£13.95
1 In Stock

This is a personal account of a three-week railway enthusiasts’ trip to India in late December 1979 and January 1980, a time when steam traction was still prevalent in much of the country.

There are short chapters on each of the locations visited, including Bombay, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Madras (now Chennai), Calcutta, Darjeeling and Delhi. For each location visited the book lists the locos observed and vividly describes the author’s experiences including mishaps such as train reservations not being honoured. At the back there is an appendix listing all loco classes viewed.

Illustrated with approximately 90 colour photographs. 60 pages.
