This DVD takes a look at the railways in and around the Austrian city of Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol.
Footage includes the city’s main line railways with their variety of long-distance and local services, city centre street scenes, views of the city’s tramway network and the surrounding Austrian alps, the Stubaitalbahn interurban tram route to Fulpmes where the Tiroler Museumsbahnen museum tram depot is located, and archive footage from the 1970s before the line was connected to the rest of the tramway system (and when the city’s tramway itself was under threat for a time).
There is also footage of trains in the nearby town of Jenbach, the only station in Austria with three track gauges: the standard gauge ÖBB main line, the metre gauge Achenseebahn rack and pinion railway and the 760 mm gauge Zillertalbahn.
