This book is the sixth in Roger Mason’s Great Railway Journeys series. It follows the same format as the other five, with detailed descriptions of some of the major attractions, landmarks and places of interest along the route covered, in this case the Brighton Main Line from London Victoria to Brighton and the East and West Coastway routes from Brighton to Hastings, Portsmouth and Southampton.
Locations covered along the main line include Battersea Park, Battersea Power Station, Crystal Palace (and its namesake football club’s base at Selhurst Park), Clayton Tunnel and of course Brighton itself and its famous Royal Pavilion.
The East Coastway route guide includes descriptions of the popular resorts of Eastbourne, Hastings and its cliff railways, and Worthing, Littlehampton, Bognor Regis, Portsmouth and Southampton are described in the West Coastway route guide.
Illustrated throughout with colour photographs. 96 pages.
