Classic Diesel Years: Cumbrian Coast (Stenlake)

£11.95
Back Order

An album of 48 black & white and four colour photographs illustrating diesel locomotive hauled passenger and freight trains and some first generation diesel multiple units operating on the Cumbrian coast line.

The line takes a curcuitous route from Carlisle to Carnforth, passing through the former industrial towns of Workington, Whitehaven and Barrow-in-Furnerss and the nuclear reprocessing site at Sellafield. The line also offers glorious views of the coast and fells.

This book contains photographs of trains during the 1980s and 1990s, when Class 31s, 37s, 40s and 47s were a regular sight along the line, alongside the ubiquitous Class 108 units which served the line so faithfully for over 20 years.

Photographs are presented in one-per-page format, with captions accompanying each image. 48 pages.
