The latest addition to Robert Schwandl's series of illustrated reviews of the urban rail networks of major cities, this volume covering the German city of Munchen (Munich).

It includes an historical overview of each system in turn and then looks at present day operations using high quality colour images to illustrate the operating fleet and important architectural features of each network.

An introduction to public transport in the city is provided, covering operators, ticketing and routes. This is followed by a look at Munchen's U-Bahn system, including its history and present day services and rolling stock. Further details about each line are included, with a chapter devoted to each of the six lines of the network. Each chapter includes a description and history of the line, as well as details of opening dates and stations. A series of high-quality colour photographs illustrate the stations of each line.

Next, the book turns to the S-Bahn system, providing an overview and history of the extensive 420 km network, which covers over 140 stations. Details of routes, rolling stock and stations are provided and colour photographs illustrate various locations on the network.

Details of regional RE and RB trains serving the city are included, as is an illustrated history and review of the city's extensive tram system.
