This is a detailed history of the Wansbeck Railway which ran from Morpeth to Reedsmouth, along with the branch from Scotsgap to Rothbury.
The book describes the route, its passenger and freight services, special trains, signalling, locos and engine sheds. There are also chapters on the line’s feeder narrow gauge industrial railways, closure of the line, and what trace remains of the route today.
