The Railway Photography of David Christie: Across Six Decades of Britain’s Railways has been compiled by John H. Bird, who has written informative captions to accompany the photographs which he selected from David's own collection.
David Christie has been photographing trains and railway scenes in the UK since 1962. John describes him as a photographer who has been blessed with high quality cameras and a discerning eye, and says that David has amassed a diverse collection of colour slides over the years. This book features steam, diesel and electric traction, main line and narrow gauge and from the steamy '60s right up to the end of the teens. As well as the stunning images John’s text combines David's personal reminiscences, with some context commentary about the six decades which his photographs cover.
