A book of black & white photographs of diesel locomotives and multiple units in operation around Yorkshire, taken during the late 1950s and 1960s, as diesels were replacing steam. Photographs are divided into chapters, each dedicated to a region of Yorkshire. Includes photographs of diesel locomotives working passenger and freight trains, as well as multiple units working on branch lines, some of which would close in the late 1960s. Detailed captions accompany each photograph, and a brief introduction to the dieselisation of railways in Yorkshire is included at the front of the book.
