The Great North of Scotland was the smallest of five major railway companies in Scotland, comprising a main line from Aberdeen to Elgin with alternative routes from Keith and with branches to Boat of Garten, Lossiemouth, Banff, Macduff, Fraserburgh, St Combs, Peterhead, Boddam, Old Meldrum, Alford and Ballater.
