The history of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway began with the chartering of the Aurora Branch Railroad in 1848. The line was built from Auroro, Illinois towards Chicago and via a series of mergers and expansions became part of the BNSF railway. By 1995, it was the largest railroad company in the USA.

This book covers the history of the railway using text and a series of archive black & white and more recent colour photographs of locomotives and trains operated by BNSF. Photographs are mostly taken from throughout the last 40 years, enabling colour photographs to be used, but some older black & white photographs are also included, along with timetable extracts. 128 pages.
