£19.95

In the 1950s and 1960s, British railway enthusiasts began travelling abroad in search of steam locomotives in mainland Europe. However, this book contains the photography of two Austrian photographers who made the journey in reverse, spending time in Britain during this period.

Both Gerhard Luft and Harald Nave have a reputation for high quality photographs of European railways and this book contains a series of their photographs taken in Britain during the 1950s and 1960s, which was a period of great change. Their images illustrated steam locomotives as well as several early classes of diesel and electric locomotives.

An introduction to both photographers is included and each photograph is accompanied by a caption. 88 pages.
