This magazine-style publication traces the history of one of the most beautiful and at the same time oldest railway lines in Bavaria. As early as 1854, trains started operating on the Allgaubahn between Munchen and Lindau. This section of the Ludwig-Süd-Nord-Bahn was of great importance for long-distance travel between Munchen and Switzerland right from its opening.

This publication highlights the development of long-distance traffic via Kempten until it was discontinued in December 2020. Other chapters look at the types of locomotive to have worked on the line over the years. An additional chapter deals with the relocation of the main station in Kempten to outside the city gates and a look at Kempten and Lindau depots, which were the main depots on the route is also included.

Superbly illustrated throughout with colour and black & white photographs. German text. 98 pages.
