The iconic V 200 diesel locomotive was the first diesel-electric locomotive to operate for the Deutsche Reichsbahn, the first locomotive arriving in 1966. Around 380 locomotives were imported over the next ten years, with many remaining in service up to the mid-1990s.
This DVD contains footage of the locomoties in action around East Germany, as well as including some more recent footage from Poland where the locomotives remained in service much later. Some recent footage of preserved examples is also featured.
