North East Steam - A Tribute (Kingfisher)

£18.95
2 In Stock

This is a fascinating collection of steam photographs from across the North East in the 1960s, the last decade of regular main line steam operation. It features a variety of passenger and freight trains, light engine movements, and locomotives on shed.

Apart from the East Coast Main Line between Newcastle and Berwick, most of the routes covered have long since closed or been mothballed. These include the Leamside Line, the Alnwick branch, Morpeth to Woodburn, and the recently reopened Northumberland Line to Ashington.

Most of the photographs are arranged one per page and have detailed captions accompanying each. 80 pages.
