This is the ninth book in Jim Blake’s LT Area series looking at London Transport bus operations in the east of Central London since 1976. Areas covered in this volume include the City of London itself and the area around Holbourn.
The book is divided into sections, each covering a different theme such as as buses captured adjacent to churches or pubs, curtailments and short workings, special liveries and buses in trouble.
Most of the photos date from between the early 1960s and the late 1980s, with a few more recent shots also included. They are mostly black & white but there are also some colour shots. RTs and Routemasters dominate the collection, reflecting the vehicle types operating during this period. Some more recent bus types are also included.
