This is the eighth in bus photographer Jim Blake’s series on the various parts of the former London Transport Central area, covering outer East London and neighbouring parts of Essex.
The photos mostly date from between the mid-1960s and the early 1980s with a few more recent shots also being included. Several of the photos are of Routemasters, RTs and RFs, with a few Leyland Fleetline DMSs, Titans and Metrobuses also to be seen. There are also a few latter-day shots of modern low-floor buses. Locations depicted include Chipping Ongar, Epping Forest, Ilford, Loughton, Romford and Wanstead among others.
