An illustrated review of the fleet of buses built for Birmingham City Transport by Crossley Motors between 1947 and 1954.

In the aftermath of World War 2, many manufacturers found themselves unable to fulfil orders as bus companies sought to replace vehicles lost or damaged during the war. Crossley Motors however had spare capacity at their Errwood Park factory and were able to produce over 1700 vehicles for Birmingham City Transport between 1947 and 1954.

This book contains black & white photographs of these vehicles in operation around Birmingham during the 1950s and 1960s. Includes chapters covering each of the variations of vehicle built and looks at the impact of the takeover of Crossley Motors by ACV.

An introduction to Crossley Motors and to the order for buses for Birmingham City Transport is included and each photograph is accompanied by an extensive caption. 96 pages.
