In May 1883, the first tramway in Erfurt opened, with horse-drawn trams. The first electric tram operated in 1894 and the network gradually expanded and modernised over the following decades.

This book contains a selection of black & white photographs taken throughout the history of the tramway, covering a period of 125 years. Photographs are divided into chapters covering four periods of the tramway's history:

  • From Horse Trams to Electrification (1883-1913)
  • Wartime (1914-1945)
  • Consolidation (1946-1989)
  • Modern Era (1990-2007)

Around 200 photographs are included, with each being accompanied by a caption. German text. 128 pages.
