1 In Stock

The fourth volume of Le Train’s review of SNCF’s Corail coaching stock which became the standard air-conditioned stock used on France’s railways from the 1970s onwards. Renowned for its smooth ride and the high standard of comfort afforded to passengers, Corail was SNCF’s premier coaching stock until its replacement by TGVs and modern EMUs.

This volume looks at the later years of Corail service and looks at some of the special and service cars that were built as part of the Corail programme. It also examines conversions undertaken as demand for Corail stock changed over time.

The gradual decline of Corail-operated services is addressed as more and more domestic and international services moved over to TGV operation, but the volume also looks back over the period and reflects on 25 years of Corail domination between 1975 and 2000.

Les Voitures Type Corail Tome 4 is well illustrated in colour throughout, including interior and exterior images. 96 pages. French text.
