A novel by Vincent Conrad. This book, a sequel to the novel Dernier Train pour Lautenbach, tells the story of Jules, an Alsatian railway worker nearing the end of his career, and of Pierre, a young man with a passion for the railway line from Bollwiller to Guebwiller. The line had been closed to passenger services and was under threat of total closure.

Jules had already set about trying to find and save De Dietrich X42504 railcar, on which he had worked for many years and which had provided the last passenger train on the line in March 1969. The two men joined forces to lead the fight to restore passenger traffic to the line.

Includes reflections on the fight of many amateur associations to save what remains of the network of secondary railways in France, 268 pages. French text. Published 2009. Original Price £21.95
