The 1960s were the last decade of main line steam traction in Britain. Keith Platt has put together this collection of his previously unpublished images from across the East Midlands, taken during this final decade of steam.

Photographs cover a mix of freight workings, locomotives on shed, regular passenger trains and railtours in a variety of locations across the East Midlands, including now closed lines and stations such as Millers Dale in the Peak District, the Cromford & High Peak Railway, and Nottingham Victoria and Leicester Central on the former Great Central main line.

The photographs are mostly arranged in two-per-page format, with captions accompanying each image. Each caption includes a short history of the locomotive illustrated. Approximately 200 photographs, mostly colour. 96 pages.
