An album of black & white photographs taken by acclaimed railway photographer Brian Morrison of steam locomotives in Scotland during the 1950s.
Many of the locomotive types used in Scotland never ventured south of the border, with most operating on specific routes. From 1952 onwards, Brian set out to photograph every class of locomotive which operated in Scotland and in this book he presents a selection of these images. Every class of steam locomotive to have operated in Scotland during the 1950s (with the exception of a couple which were withdrawn before 1952) is illustrated in this book.
Photographs are roughly arranged by location, with a variety of locomotive types included around each location featured. Every photograph is accompanied by a caption, providing information about the locomotive class pictured. A short introduction to Scottish steam in the 1950s is also included. 96 pages.
