Bord Na Mona is the network of narrow gauge railways in Ireland developed to service the extraction and distribution of peat from the vast areas of bog land. In its heyday this remarkable network extended to nearly 1000 km.

Memories of the Bord Na Mona Railways takes a nostalgic look at this fascinating narrow gauge system, using colour photographs taken between 1980 and the early 2000s to capture the true flavour of this unique operation.

As well as featuring many trains in action, it looks at some of the locomotives and wagons engaged in the movement of peat and also illustrates some of the bridge structures constructed where the lines had to cross sections of water.
