A journey through four decades of railway history from the 1980s to 2020 in the area of Schleswig-Holstein. This book contains around 160 colour photographs that record the change in passenger and freight traffic, both in terms of the locomotives and rolling stock in use and the stations and yards at which they serve.
Eisenbahnen in Schleswig-Holstein takes in each area of the region in turn, including the major urban centres of Lubeck, Kiel and Flensburg, as well as the lines that connect them and several secondary and branch lines. Many different classes of locomotive and multiple unit are illustrated.
The book also illustrates trains moving on and off train ferries on the North Sea coast and well know items of infrastructure such as the Kiel Canal Bridge. A map of the Schleswig-Holstein area is also included. Hardback. 120 pages. German text.
