An album of high quality colour photographs of steam locomotives at work around the world over the last 40 years, captured by renowned French railway photographer, Fabrice Lanoue. The grandson of a railway mechanic at Longueville depot, Fabrice has always been passionate about trains, particularly steam, and quickly took up photography.

Patrice is one of only a handful of enthusiasts who have had the chance, over the past 40 years, to visit the very last networks in the world still using steam locomotives. From Romania to Patagonia, passing through various Asian countries, he offers us in this book a sample of his most beautiful shots, to witness a world that has now disappeared forever.

Many of the photographs feature locomotives hard at work against a spectacular scenic landscape, but Fabrice also captures the human side of steam operation by including photographs of staff at work and at rest.

A large format has been used for Passeport pour la Vapeur: 35 Ans de Passion Ferroviaire to best showcase the high quality images it contains. A narrative describes some of the journeys undertaken and all images are captioned. French text. 224 pages. Hardback.
