In 1977, the Sceaux line was absorbed into the Paris RER network as Line B and it was extended to Chatalet-les-Halles. Prior to becoming part of the RER system, the line operated as a suburban electric railway in its own right.

This book traces the history of the Sceaux line from its construction in the 1840s, right through to the conversion to an RER line and onwards to the present day. Chapters look at the line's operation under various operating companies, including PO, CMP and RATP and covering steam and electric motive power on the line.

La Ligne de Sceaux: Le Laboratoire Ferroviaire du RER traces the history of this line, which has seen great change throughout its history. Well-illustrated throughout with archive black & white photographs. French text. 128 pages.
