An album of high quality black & white photographs illustrating the operations of Deutsche Reichsbahn between 1967 and the 1980s. The photographs included in this album are some of the best from the extensive archive of Hans Müller, an accredited photographer who spent many years photographing subjects in the former East Germany that were rarely recorded at that time.
The photographs are presented in the form of a journey across the GDR from the northern coast to the mountains in the south, taking in express passenger trains, local or urban services and a variety of freight along the way.
The book begins with a brief introduction to the author, followed by 287 excellent images presented in one or two-per-page format. Every illustration is accompanied by extensive caption detail providing further anecdotal information relating to the subject. Areas visited include:
