The Good Old Days (Strathwood)

A collection of good quality images illustrating diesel and electric traction from the late 1970s to the mid-1980s. The author, Ken Gambles, had a passion to record the everyday scene in the context of the fast-vanishing architecture and infrastructure of the traditional railway. As such, most of these compositions emphasise the railway environment of the day.

A wide variety of locomotive and multiple unit types are illustrated, including Deltics, Class 40s, Peaks and Class 25s, usually at the head of passenger or freight trains, but sometimes within the confines of stations or depots.

The Good Old Days uses informative captions to describe how it really was being an enthusiast during the late 1970s into the mid-1980s. Contains over 100 carefully selected colour photographs presented in landscape format, mainly one-per-page. Hardback. 96 pages.
