Photographers John Dedman and Pete Nurse have been photographing freight trains around Hampshire since the 1970s. In Rail Freight in Hampshire they present a selection of colour photographs of freight trains around the county between the 1970s and the present day.
Photographs feature a variety of locomotive types which have operated on freight trains throughout the last 50 years. Several types of freight train are covered, including container traffic to and from the port of Southampton, coal trains, cement, petroleum and nuclear flasks.
Photographs are presented in two-per-page format with captions accompanying each photograph. An introduction to freight traffic in Hampshire is also included. 96 pages.
