£15.99
Back Order

Diesel hydraulic locomotives ran on British Rail’s Western Region from 1958 to 1977. Over that period they sported a diverse range of liveries in a wide variety of different colour schemes, encompassing almost every permutation of the old British Railways of the 1950s and 1960s, and post-1965 corporate image British Rail liveries.

Here author, Russell Saxton, aims to show examples of locomotives bearing each of the main liveries, along with locomotives carrying minor variations. Following the introduction he has divided the book into six chapters:

  • D600 ‘Warships’
  • D800 ‘Warships’
  • The ‘Westerns’
  • Class 22
  • The ‘Hymeks’
  • Class 14

The pictures in each chapter generally appear in chronological order for each class and are accompanied by a detailed caption.

150 colour photographs. 96 pages.
