The photographs cover the period from the 1970s to the late 2010s and feature a remarkable number of different types and designs. Brief caption details give information about each illustrated locomotive and the location at which it is seen.
Locations vary from coal mines and steel plants to other heavy manufacturing industry situations. Coverage is also given to major infrastructure projects like the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (HS1) that employed many different industrial locomotives, including several temporary visitors from abroad. 102 pages.
