In this book, author Jeffery Grayer has collected a series of archive black & white photographs from the Transport Treasury archive of Great Western Railway trains operating from London to the South West England and Welsh coastal resorts. Some of these trains were given names, some of which became iconic, such as the Cornish Riviera and Cambrian Coast Express.

Photographs are mostly taken from throughout the 1950s and 1960s and are presented in chapters, each covering a county served by GWR routes. Many of the region's popular seaside resorts are covered, along with numerous smaller and lesser-known destinations.

Each chapter consists of a series of high quality black & white photographs, each accompanied by detailed captions. Further text provides some details of destinations and train services and an introduction to holiday and day trip train travel is also included. 112 pages.
