Classes covered include King Arthurs, Lord Nelsons, Remembrance classes, as well as H15s and S15s and many others. Photographs include locomotives at stations and depots, as well as lineside views from locations around the Southern region.

Photographs are presented in one-per-page format with extensive captions accompanying each. In compiling this book, the author has used images from photographic collections including Colour Rail, Rail Archive Stephenson, The Transport Library and Transport Treasury, allowing an excellent selection of images to be included.
